Island Salt was founded in 2009 and has ever since been involved in trading various salt products across the Indian Ocean region. Our main product lines focus on edible salt, bakery salt, livestock salt, swimming pool salt, tanning salt and salt for fishing vessels.
Our salts are predominantly sourced from India, Pakistan and West Africa, while our certified organic peppers and spices are sourced from Madagascar. Over the last 18 years we have developed strong associations with our suppliers, allowing us to reliably deliver to our clients on a consistent basis even when supply is limited.
Island Salt has recently invested in a salt packing plant to further ensure reliable and timely supply of product to our customers. This investment has also allowed us to develop our own range of products at close proximity and satisfy the broadening demands of our customers.
Our products include a range of different offerings, including Sea Salt (fine, medium and coarse), Himalayan Pink Salt (fine and course), Peppers and Spices. All products come in a variety of packing, including but not limited; pillow pouches, grinders and shakers.
Due to our growing presence in the livestock industry, another recent development within the company has been diversification of our offering to include bedding for livestock. Island Salt is proud to announce that it has been appointed as the exclusive distributor of the largest producer of wood shavings in South Africa across the India Ocean region.
